Jessica is the second daughter of Nathalie "Jean" McCance, born on 27 Mar 1960. She was brought up in Sussex and educated locally. She went to live in Paris in order to attend the École Cordon Bleu, where she acquired the basic skills for one of the great creative talents in her life. She worked in London and Ireland before moving to the United States where she supported herself in the catering business and attended drama classes. She has appeared in two films, directed by Eric Mitchell, The Way It Is (1986) and Force of Circumstance (1991). She met her husband, Doug Anderson, who comes from Minnesota, which is where they now live. They are about to open their own restaurant in Minneapolis. They have two children, Joey (27 Nov 1991) and Doone (22 May 1996).
