The elder son of Lt.Col. John McCance, hew was born at Knocknagoney on 6th May, 1876.  He was educated at Wellington College and Trinity Hall Cambridge where he matriculated in 1896 and got his B.A. in 1901.  

We recently learned that he married Elizabeth Patrick and lived at Knocknagoney.  They had one daughter, Anne Letitia (b.1928), who married James Johnson Dickson in 1951.  (Their daughter, Diana, came across this website and passed on this information).
